Colin Morgan focusing on career amid several rumors of him being gay or dating co-star Katie McGarth

Colin Morgan is reportedly set to star in another BBC show. The period drama, which is titled "The Living and the Dead" will be featured by English actress Charlotte Spencer alongside Colin Morgan.

The Irish actor seems to be very excited about the new project. Talking about the show, Morgan said,

"The Living And The Dead is one of those scripts that you read and are instantly compelled and engaged by. It's intelligent, chilling and engrossing. It's going to be very special and I can't wait to start working on it with the wonderful creative team."

Morgan's co-star Spencer added,

"It's always been a dream of mine to appear in a period drama and they don't come better than this - fantastic, original scripts and, in Charlotte Appleby, a superb character who's strong, passionate and gutsy. Couple this with an incredible director, crew, and cast, I can't wait to get started!"

The show will be produced by Eliza Mellor, who also produced the highly successful drama series, Poldark. This might be an even bigger leap for Morgan, who is already quite famous for his role as the titular character in BBC's Merlin.

Colin Morgan Relationship

The show will follow the story of a recently married couple, Charlotte and Nathan Appleby who move to a farm in Somerset in hopes of starting a new life.

While his onscreen characters are getting married or involved with someone, Morgan doesn't seem to be the same. While some rumors have suggested that he is gay and is dating his co-star, British actor Bradley James, others have suggested that his other co-star, Katie McGrath is his girlfriend.

But he has maintained that he is friends with both of them. McGrath plays antagonist Morgana Pendragon and James plays Morgana's half-brother, Arthur Pendragon. While Morgan's character and the Pendragons have a complicated relationship in the show, they are all good friends in real life.

They often appear in interviews together and joke around. This might have furthered heightened the rumors about  Colin Morgan wife and private life.

McGrath has previously praised the duo for their incredible chemistry, she said

"Bradley and Colin have so much fun playing those characters and the two of them together have really good chemistry as a mate. And I think that translates, and you can just tell that it’s a laugh. And you can’t fake that kind of friendship, and I think that’s what people are responding to.”

In the same interview with thebacklot.com, when asked about whether he was aware of the Arthur/Merlin fans, he said,

"I’m pretty good at keeping separate from all kind of things in terms of Twitter or Facebook or anything online. Thankfully I’m not aware of actually what goes on. So in no way does it fuel or affect what ends up going on screen. You very much look at the script and play it up and nothing else.”

And like he said, Morgan does maintain a very private life. But while he doesn't see all the pairings his fans come up with, there seem to be dedicated ones all over Instagram and Twitter.
