Chris Gayle has named his new-born baby daughter 'Blush.'

West Indies’ batsman, Chris Gayle, and partner Natasha Berridge welcomed their first child ‘Blush’ to the world on 21st of April. He posted a photo along with his partner on Instagram with a caption that read,

We would like to welcome the arrival of our beautiful daughter 'Blush' to this world 2 hours ago, Thank God. #GoodHealth&Strength - The greatest gift and feelings anyone would want. Great experience witnesses every bit of it. ????????????????. Have to give my blessings to Tasha, strong woman ????. #Amen”

Well, the name “Blush” might have been just another baby name if the 36-year-old sports star had not passed inappropriate remark to the then Channel-10 reporter Mel McLaughlin in January. The interview was on air after a Big Bash League Game in Hobart.

'I wanted to come and have an interview with you as well ... That's the reason why I'm here, just to see your eyes for the first time,' Gayle told McLaughlin after getting out.

'Hopefully we can win this game and have a drink after. Don't blush baby.'

The controversy did not stop here. He later posted a picture of himself that read ‘sex sells’ and then signed a fan’s Frisbee with ‘don’t blush baby’.  The line ‘don’t blush baby’ became a sensation and fans used the phrase to cheer on their cricket team.

The sportsman, however, didn’t get away with his inappropriate remark and was fined $10,000. Albeit the comment was not sexist but it was inappropriate as the reporter Mel herself seemed really uncomfortable at Gayle’s remark. The controversial interview turned many heads and became an issue to be talked about in many chat shows.

The entire internet is rather amused and shocked by the bizarre choice of Gayle for his baby’s name and Twitter users didn't leave a chance to have a say at it!
