On November 6, 2017, at around 1:23 am, Chelsea Lately late-night talk show tweeted on her Twitter briefly explaining about the innocent people. She tweeted: "Innocent people go to church on Sunday to honor their God, and while doing so, get shot in [sic] killed. What country? America. Why? Republicans"

Actually, she posted the tweet before an official count of dead and wounded was even counted or the gunman and their motives were even identified thus the backlash was swift.

Soon after her post, Steve Scalise (R-La) claimed that her tweet is a disgusting statement. Also, she was called a dark heart nasty women.

According to The AssociatedPress, Sunday's shooting at a Baptist church claim of at least 26 lives that includes children and pregnant women.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Devin Patrick Kelly, an Air Force veteran and native of New Braunfels, Texas. The 26-year-old Kelly was found dead after the shooting.

For your information, Handler outspoke in her criticism regarding President Donald Trump and his family. After around weeks that she announced her intention to stop her Netflix talk show, she commented about President Donald Trump.
