Cat Deeley and husband Patrick talk about their love affair, engagement and married life

Three years since their marriage, TV presenters Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty are still wonderfully happy together. With the years passing by, their bond seems to be growing stronger day by day. So much so that they can’t stop talking about how they fell in love and how they still infatuated with each other.

The pair first came to know each other when they hosted one of the original TV talent shows, ‘Fame Academy’ together in 2002. However, their work never came in between their relationship and they have managed to separate their personal and professional life rather admirably.

Talking about their initial days as a couple, Patrick said, “there was always a little bit of a spark between us,”. He further explains, “but either she was with someone or I was with someone and by the time we were both single she was in America.”

“It was always one of those things that never worked out.”

The pair ended up dating and getting married in September 2012 at a ceremony in Rome.

However, work commitments on both sides of the pond meant they were frequently separated and Patrick had to shuffle between UK and USA a lot as Cat resides in Los Angeles and Patrick is based on Dublin.

According to Cat Deeley, long-distance marriage helped the couple to make their relationship stronger. For Cat, “if men are asked, they’ll say the key to a happy marriage is not seeing too much of their partner.”  And that, says Cat Deeley is exactly what makes her relationship with Irish TV presenter Patrick Kielty so brilliant.

Cat, 37, further elaborated: “We start getting on each other’s nerves. He starts to hate me and I start to hate him. And he has to go away and I kind of miss him. We’re normally apart for about 10 days. And then he comes back and we’re lovely again.”

“It works out perfectly. It’s the perfect scenario. Lots of my friends are quite jealous about our relationship.”

Speaking in a US television interview, Cat fondly described Patrick, as “very cool – he’s a bit of an albino, he’s very pale skinned”.

“It’s a bit like, ‘You put the phone down first’, ‘No you put it down’.

Cat, who has been hosting US reality show So You Think You Can Dance since 2006, also revealed she makes up silly names for Patrick.

She nicknamed him “Stu”, because she considers him stupid. But, she found Paddy thought the warm insult was a reference to his Irish roots. She also calls her husband “Moon Pig” and “Albino”. “I kind of called him Stu and he was really excited about it,” Cat said. “He thought it was like Irish stew... but actually it’s stupid. He’s stu.”

Cat admits she is amazed to be still hosting her dance reality series. “It’s insane” she said. “I came across from England years ago to have a bit of an adventure.” “I love the show, it’s really fun. “But never in my wildest dreams did I envisage we would still be going 10 seasons later.”

Cat, at a height of 5’9” is a tall lady. She looks hot in a mini dress. Cat is very active in the social media and regularly posts on Twitter, where she has over five thousand followers. She is also very active in Instagram. According to Imdb, she started out in the Industry at the age of 16, when she was signed with Storm modeling agency.
