Cartoonist Berkeley Breathed reprises Pulitzer winning comic strip Bloom County after 25 years!!

There’s good news for all the “Bloom County” lovers. Cartoonist Berkeley Breathed, the creator of the Pulitzer Prize winning comic Strip “Bloom County” has announced on Facebook that he would be reprising to the strip. He made the announcement on Sunday. He was true to his words as he made the first publication of “Bloom County 2015” on Monday.

Berkeley Breathed surprised his millions of fans on Facebook after his posted a picture of himself working on the comic strip on his PC. The picture was captioned: “A return after 25 years. Feels like going home.” The picture was quickly showered with thousands of likes and comments by fans as they expressed their happiness to the well-loved Pulitzer prize-winning cartoonist. He then shared a comic strip “Bloom County” on Monday featuring the beloved characters, Opus the Penguin and the ever-cynical Milo Bloom.

 In the strip, Opus wakes up from a very long and deep slumber and asks Milo, “Hoo boy! That was some nap. How long was I out, Milo?”

Milo gives a short reply, “25 years.”

The Opus and Milo might have aged 25 years but the love and fan following for these much loved characters are same.

"This makes me unreasonably happy - Opus the Penguin is coming back!" tweeted Daryl Orts in his Twitter handle.

The most popular comment on his post summed off the responses of all the fans, "And suddenly the world is back in alignment. Thank you Sir."

 "As every day there's some part of my childhood dying off, this morning I awoke to see one part be brought back to life," a reader named John Lowry wrote on Facebook. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart Mr. Breathed, you made my day!"

A fan named Larry Warshall even commented on the photo, “ Dear Mr. Breathed. With Donald Trump returning to the Political Spectum, I believe it is only fitting. I have missed you guys.”   

The fan clearly asking if the comic strip had anything to do with Donald Trump.

“This creator can’t precisely deny that the chap you mention had nothing do with it.” So yeah, he’s making more Bloom County and it might be Trump-related.

With the return of the strip, fans and readers all over the world are expecting a reunion with their beloved characters Opus, Bill the Cat, Cutter John, Steve Dallas and many more. Fans can’t wait to visit Bloom County, whose small-town characters often found absurdity in America's cultural and political life as it makes it’s come back while the country heads into a new presidential election season.
