Bokeem Woodbine talks about his roles in TV shows and how he found the perfect one in interviews.

American actor Bokeem Woodbine talked about his roles in TV shows and revealed how he found the perfect role in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Woodbine seemed to be finally satisfied with the scene-stealing role as killer Mike Milligan in the TV show Fargo. The show has surprisingly turned actor Woodbine into the most unusual overnight sensation.

It is said that Fargo is the best thing he has ever been on and he is arguably the best thing on the show right now.

Woodbine has been playing the character of Mike Milligan, who is soft-spoken, dissonantly calm and totally scary hit man.

The 42 years old actor has been acting in the industry for over two decades. Woodbine had entered into the show business at the age of 19 with the encouragement of his actress mother. He made his acting debut in the directorial debut of Ernest Dickerson, the 1992 hip hop classic Juice.

Since then, he has appeared working with every big name in Hollywood. After playing  brief roles in movies as Crooklyn, Woodbine got his first featured role in the movie Jason’s Lyric as the main character’s bad brother Joshua.

Though he was featured in numerous movies and series, Woodbine believes and appreciates the fact that Mike Milligan earned him the best reviews and critical acclaim of his career. Woodbine thinks of himself as very fortunate to have this perfect character. This has been a dream come true moment for the actor.

“I literally couldn’t have conceived or conceptualized such great moments for a character, such unique and wonderful dialogue and such bizarre yet completely, in my mind, realistic scenarios,” says Woodbine.

Woodbine was nominated for a Critic’s Choice Television Award for Best supporting actor in a movie/ miniseries for his role as Mike Milligan.

He shared his past experiences that Fargo was not like most television shows.  He stated that most television shows are like commercials where they want actors just to sell the product. And if it’s not you, there is someone else to take your spot right there.

But he stressed that this wasn’t the case with Fargo and added that the show has been the best show he ever worked with. It gave him the feel of an independent movie.

“That wasn’t the case with Fargo,” said Woodbine. “It was just the perfect center between the feel of an independent film, like, a whole entire film, but with all the resources that you get from working on a television show: best craft service, best of everything. So we had both.”

The Fargo star is married to his wife Mahiely Woodbine for several years. The couple is not headed towards divorce as rumored. They are happy parents to two children.

American film and television actor, Woodbine has an estimated net worth of $3 million.
