Baseball star Craig Kimbrel, who is owed a total salary of $30 million, may be traded from current team, San Diego Padres

The baseball star Craig Kimbrel may be treaded from his current team - San Diego Padres. The New York Post‘s Joel Sherman  tweeted last night that many executives believe that Kimbrel might join the Yankees.

Later that day, Jason Stark of ESPN also linked Yankees with Kimbrel. Kimbrel is currently owed a total salary of $30 million by the Padres.

According to reports Kimbrel is being courted by quite a few teams. Teams like the Yankees and Diamondbacks have shown interest. The Yankees are rumoured to be trying to sign Kimbrel.

The Astros are also reported to be interested in Kimbrel, but their involvement till date is unknown. Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune also says that the Astros are still in on Kimbrel.

However, last night’s Carlos Gomez acquisition makes it even less likely that they’ll meet the Padres’ asking price. The market for Kimbrel in particular has heated up in the final hours.

Kimbrel, age 27, has been playing for San Diego Padres since April 5, 2015. He is a four time All Star and is married to Ashley Holt.

He proposed to wife Holt, who is a master baker and a former Wallace State cheerleader, on May 2012 and they got married in December of the same year. The couple met in college and fell in love. Holt is also the winner of Next Great Baker season 3. She is very active in the social media.

She has over 6 thousand fans in her Instagram and over 7 thousand followers in Twitter.

Kimbrel is also quite active in the social media. He has over 152k followers in twitter. His parents are Mike and Sandy Kimbrel. Kimbrel was born in May 28 1988 in Huntville, Alabama. He has two brothers Alan and Matt Kimbrel.

Kimbrel started out as a rookie with Atlanta Braves back in 2011 where he set a MLB record for saves. He was named their closer.

He joined the San Diego Padres team before the beginning of the 2015 season. Kimbrel set a record for his 200th career save against his former team the Atlanta Braves on June 8, 2015.

It took him only 318 games to set a record to become the fastest player ever to have 200 career saves..

Kimbrel is a 4 times National League saves champion from 2011 to 2014. He received a Trevor Hoffman Award in 2014. He is also named as 2 times MLB Delivery Man of the Year (2013-2014).

He received National League Rolaids Relief Man Award in 2012. Also he was awarded the National League Rookie of the year in 2011.

It is yet to be determined which team he will be joining after San Diego Padres but we hope to see this talented young sportsman play with his enormous skills in the upcoming season as well.
