Born on March 26, 1994, in Perth, Australia to Coppelia and Chris Tingley, Freya was raised in the suburb of Mount Claremont. Standing at a height of 5’2”, Freya dreamt of becoming a model when she was young. She had once dealt with a fraudulent modeling agent who introduced her to an acting workshop. While working together with acting instructor Ali Roberts, Freya loved it so much she decided to be an actor there and then.

Her first ever professional role was as Young Joan in Caryl Churchill’s play Far Away for The Black Swan Theatre Company in 2008. Since then, she’s been working consistently in a series of films including the short film Bootleg, a singing role in Light as a Feather, X: Night of Vengeance, three voiceovers for Bully for You and the television miniseries Cloudstreet based on Tim Winton’s award-winning novel. In 2011, she played the lead as a deaf girl, in the short film Beneath the Waves by director Renee Marie. This role required Freya to learn sign language.
