All about TV Host Arsenio Hall, age 59, the first critically acclaimed black host of black ethnicity

It is no secret that Arsenio Hall, American comedian, actor and talk-show host, has won millions of heart throughout his career. With his infectious smile and lovable personality, Hall ruled the comedy scene in the early 90s. And with his light hearted humor and fist pounding action, Hall broke through color barrier in Talks Shows. He is the first critically acclaimed talk show host from African American background in the US0.

Arsenio Hall's popularity rose after the success of his talk show 'The Arsenio Hall Show'. The show aired from 1989 to 1994. Hall invited up-coming artists in his show, which was the opposite of what mainstream talk shows were doing at that time. This unique approach quickly resulted in a rapid growth of audiences to the show.

The talk show, at the pinnacle of his popularity, lured the likes of the then presidential candidate Bill Clinton and George Lopez. The show was primarily aimed towards young viewers. It was closed in 1994 due a decline in ratings. The show remerged in 2013, but was again canceled due to creative differences between him and producer.

Arsenio shared a notorious discussion with the members of Queer Nation during the filming of his talk show in 1991. They were sitting among the audiences and asked the question  why any of the guests on the show were not gay. This gave rise speculations as to if Arsenio was really anti-gay. But Arsenio dismissed the accusations by stating that celebrities did not discuss their sexuality openly and he could not possibly know  whether his guests were gay or not. Now, he is recognized as a supporter of LGTB community.

The comedian has been nominated for 2 Primetime Emmys. He has also won People's Choice award for the Best Talk Show host in 1990. Apart from the talk show, Arsenio has also made several appearance in the Silver screen. He famously co-starred Bill Murphy in 1988 hit, "Coming to America". He also starred in, "The Real Ghostbusters" in 1996 and the 1989 hit, "Harlem Nights".

Arsenio is believed to have dated Paula Abdul from 1989 to 2013. It was rumored that he dated Pamela Anderson before dating Paula Abdul. He also has a son born in 1999. Standing at 5'11 inches tall and 59 years of age, Hall is reportedly single for the time being. This has led to several speculations about who he his dating currently. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1959, Hall completed his high school in the local Warrensville Heights High School. He graduated from Kent  State University. Considered to be an excellent student by his peers and teachers alike, Hall intended to study law but changed his mind and got a degree in education.
