Alice Johnson Freed After President Trump Grants Clemency Following Kim Kardashian Plea

‘One of my best memories’ Kim Kardashian tweeted, who had personally lobbied President Trump last week for clemency of Alice Marie Johnson, who was jailed in 1996 on a non-violent drugs charge.

 

The 63 years old grandmother who had served over 20 year in prison was freed from prison just hours after Trump ordered the federal officials, with footage showing Alice Johnson running towards her family, throwing her arms wide open and screaming with happiness before embracing them in front of the crowd.

Johnson case came to highlight when reality star Kim Kardashian West met Trump in white house. And Kim hoped that the President will grant clement to Johnson following President positive tweet and discussion.

Alice prisoned in 1996 after found guilty in a connection to a drug trafficking conspiracy would have died behind bars without Kardashian great effort and the president’s clemency. In fact, she is one of many victim who is serving life sentence for nonviolent offenses according to the date released by a 2013 the American Civil Liberties Union.
