Actress Patricia Richardson becomes victim of an Internet death hoax

News of actress Patricia Richardson’s death surfaced all over internet earlier this month. The fact that the Home Improvement star had passed away, was utterly disturbing for her fans. But turns out, she isn’t dead after all. Yes!! The news was a complete hoax. Oscar-winning Richardson is as healthy and as alive as she can be at her age.

In the past week, a condolence message for Patricia, on Facebook Page titled, ‘R.I.P. Patricia Richardson’ read:

“At about 11 a.m. ET on Saturday, our beloved actress Patricia Richardson passed away. Patricia Richardson was born on February 23, 1951 in Bethesda. She will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

The post attracted almost 1 million ‘likes’. After reading the post, fans started posting their condolences, all over the social networking site. Even the twitteraties were affected by the news. Twitter pages were also filled with condolences for the talented actress.

While some fans did believe news of her death, there were some who suspected the authenticity of the news as it came.

On the 5th of July, Richardson reps officially confirmed that the news was a hoax and the actor is totally alive. They said, “She joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. She's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet.”

Patricia, who formerly had an affair with Dr. Mark Cline, is not the first celeb to have been ‘dead’. She just joined in the league of over 5 celebs whose fake death reports became hot news in social media. The actress was married to actor Ray Baker with whom she later got divorced. She has three children from her marriage to Baker.

Just months ago, Richardson, who was married to Ray Baker, gave her fans the best holiday present when she reunited with her co-star, Tim Allen, by making a guest appearance on his show, ‘The Last Man Standing’. The two had awful lot of fun on the sets. “When you two went and did a bedroom scene the other day and got into bed I thought, ‘What’s she doing in bed with him? Get that woman out of here!,'” Richardson jokingly asked Tim. “It’s a little weird!”

“He’s done a million movies with some of the best actresses in the world,” said Pat. “He’s worked with all of these incredible people so I’ve gotten used to seeing him with other women. Whenever I see him with other people I think, ‘Well, he was mine first,” the actor joked about her ‘boyfriend’.

Fans enjoyed seeing the duo back on-screen. But just a few months later, learning about her dead was completely distressing for her fans. Whoever spread the fake news, played with the feelings of her beloved ones. Well, it was just hoax so Long Life to you, Patricia Richardson!!
