Actor Sam Waterston, age 75, says his wife Lynn Louisa Woodruff has been his greatest supporter throughout their 40 years of married life

Law & Order star Sam Waterson has revealed that his wife, Lynn Louisa Wood, has been his greatest supporter. The couple is considered one of the most iconic of TV couples.

 

The two have been married for over 40 years and their relationship is still going strong. These revelations have only increased the trust and loyalty the two have for each other.

The actor revealed that his wife has been the fuel that drives his successful career. He also stated that his wife provided him with much-needed stability in his life. He even claimed that his acting career may not have been a success if he hadn’t met Wood.

“When there were days that he didn’t feel like getting up to go to work, she encouraged him.  When he was about to give up, she motivated him to keep going. She supported him through his worst days and she has been with him through thick and thin.

The actor, however, didn’t find the love of his life in his first attempt. Waterson was previously married to Barbara Rutledge-Johns. The two got a divorce in 1975 citing irreconcilable differences. He has one son from his first marriage.

After his divorce, Waterson dated Lynn Woodruff for over year. After only dating for a year, the two decided to tie their knot. They got married in 1976. They have 3 children together. The two are very close to each other and have reportedly vowed to remain together until death.
