Actor-Director Scott Baio’s wife diagnosed with brain tumor

American Actor and Television director Scott Baio’s wife, Renee Sloan has been diagnosed with brain tumor. The actor took the social media platform, Facebook to share this heartbreaking news. His post read:

“Just a few days ago we learned my wife, Renee has a meningioma brain tumor. Although 90% of these type of tumors are benign they can cause serious problems depending on the size of the tumor and the location. We are waiting to learn the exact location to see if its operable.

Renee has been down some rough roads in her life, yet each time with her strong faith in God, she comes through a better and stronger person. During this time we ask for your prayers and support. My wife is my rock. She refuses to even shed one tear, nor will she question God's will.

Renee, Bailey and I will get through this and along the way maybe help educate others to get checked out (MRI with contrast) as 6500 people each year, mostly women get these tumors.”

The Charles in Charge actor also asked his followers on twitter to pray for his wife:

"Sometimes God throws you a curve ball. If any extra prayers, give them  to @MrsScottBaio Thanks."

Renee later too twitter to thank her well-wishers, she wrote:

“Thanks 4 the well wishes. A meningioma brain tumor is a small bump in the road compared to the trials & tribulations my spec needs kids live”

The couple went through a similar ordeal back in 2007, when their new born daughter, Bailey DeLuca was falsely diagnosed with GA-1, a rare metabolic disorder that affects children with special needs.  Shaken by this, the couple set up a foundation that raises money to help kids with metabolic disorders and their families.

Renee however, is dealing with this headstrong. In an interview with People, Renee said she wants to be open about her current situation and hopes she can educate others about her condition. She also said that she had been suffering from migraines for almost two years but doctors dismissed them as premenopausal hormones. Furthermore, she said:

"Unfortunately, a lot of women are given this explanation and they need to get checked out – an MRI did not pick up the tumor, but an MRI with contrast spotted it."

Scott had married Renee, his longtime girlfriend in 2007. Their daughter Bailey was born the same year, five weeks prior to the due date. Renee is a stunt actress and has acted in few movies like Nutbag (2001) and Murder-Set-Pieces (2004).

With the net worth of $3.5 million, Baio is known for his roles as Dr. Jack Stewart in the medical-mystery series Diagnosis: Murder and Bugsy Malone in the British Musical Bugsy Malone.  But the height of his career was perhaps his role as Chachi Arcola on ABC’s sitcom Happy Days.
