Actor Aidan Turner and longtime Girlfriend Sarah Green split up after dating for 5 years

Poldark star Aidan Turner has confirmed that he and his longtime girlfriend Sarah Greene have split after five years of dating. And we all know most of the girls out there are celebrating the news right now. After all, he is the heartthrob who made everybody’s heart leap with his shirtless escapades as the gallant Captain Ross Poldark in the BBC drama Poldrak.

The rumors about the couple’s spilt began surfacing a long time ago. But it was confirmed by neither Turner nor Greene, until now. But finally, this 32 year old handsome hunk has announced that he is officially single.

Turner, who likes to keep his personal life low profile, didn’t seem quite open about his latest break up while speaking to the Daily Telegraph. He didn’t give much detail about it and simply said that he and Greene were no longer a pair and that he was single at the moment. He added that he wanted to give more focus to his work and career rather than his personal life.

The Hobbit star and the Burnt actress have been dating for five years and the news of their split came as a shock to countless fans who loved and adored them as a couple.

Adding further fuel to the fire created by his hushed up break up with his former girlfriend and his intention of focusing on his heightening career, he said: “I like to keep my private life private for my own head.

“It's important to me that people don't know too much about me because I'm trying to play characters,” the introverted actor added. “Sometimes you see actors who are really good, but you have trouble separating that actor from the celebrity profile.”

His words reflects the bitter truth of Hollywood who, unlike Turner and a few handful of actors, are more focused on making their personal life an open book for every other human being to read.

Before the split, the couple were said to have been head over heels in love with each other and it was also being said that Turner was about to move to New York to be near his beloved.

Back then, he said: “I'm thinking of moving to New York soon. That's the great thing, as an actor these days you can be anywhere because a lot of meetings are on Skype. It's not like 10 or 12 years ago when all the Irish actors were in London. Now you can be in a city for reasons other than your career.”

The heartthrobs, who belong to Irish ethnicity, broke apart just months after it was rumored that the Being Human fame had proposed to the Irish singer and actress. But Greene clarified that they were not engaged.

Despite their break up, we hope the former love duo remain good friends in upcoming days. And both Turner and Greene have enough time to find the perfect partner. After all, they both are beautiful and successful.

Turner is finding greater success in the show biz with several movies and TV series under his belt with an estimated net worth of $3.5 million.
