Patty Duke one of the youngest female Oscar winners having achieved the accomplishment of being awarded the most prestigious honor at the tender age of sixteen has passed away. Leaving behind her an entire legacy, comprising various careers and experiences, considered at times of being too much for one lifetime.
The news of her death was confirmed by her close family members. The immediate cause of her death has been established to be intestinal problem. It has been confirmed that she passed away in the same hospital she had taken abode in for the past twenty five years of her life with her husband.
Apart from being an exceptional actress she was better known for advocating for issues regarding mental health. She began doing so after she was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the start of the eighties. After which she dedicated her entire time an effort for the purpose.
She has also been regarded as being the first celebrity to openly share her issues which in turn paved the way for future generations to cope with the problem face by many. She also was very outspoken about her other problems such as substance abuse and depression.
She has also been highly regarded as a role model especially for families and people involved with mental illness. She has also spent so much of her time educating people that if they suffer from such cases they need to seek help and keeping it to themselves is a very bad a self-destructive element.
Her personal life was a wonder gala in comparison to the average female life. She in total married four times and was known to have multiple affairs. This led to misunderstandings over the legitimacy of one of her children.
Her life was filled with actions. She was always known to have kept herself busy either for her movement for mental illness or her various movies that she was involved with up to the time of her death.
It has been rumored that a movie titled” Power of the Air” will be featuring her and is scheduled to release next year.
As a professional actress Patty has worked in over fifty different productions movies and shows combined. Her most famous show was the “The Patty Duke Show”. Some of her other noteworthy performances in TV have come from shows like “A Family Upside Down” and “The Miracle Worker”.
She however was known to be a better movie actress and her most promising roles were in movies such as “Me, Natalie”, “By Design”, “The Miracle Worker” and “Amazing Love”.
