Actress Twinnie-Lee Moore found Hollyoaks 'child abuse' storyline emotionally draining

Actress Twinnie Lee Moore revealed that the she found the sexual abuse storyline in her television show ‘Hollyoaks’ emotionally disturbing and it brought tears in her eyes.

Brit beauty Moore currently portrays the role of Porsche McQueen on the TV show and said further that the her character of the Troubled Porsche who opened up about the sexual abuse she faced at the age of 15 by her mother Reenie’s boyfriend, Pete Buchanan was one of the emotional moments that literally brought tears in her eyes.

Despite confessing  about her dark past, her family refuse to believe her and that is the most heart touching part.

Twinnie-Lee said: “It’s a horrific story and it really made me cry. You go through the emotions. I feel what Jenny goes through – that made it easier for me to call up the tears when I’m playing Porsche.

“I feel like I’ve been constantly crying for the last six weeks. I feel very drained after a heavy day.”

Reportedly, Moore, 27, prepared for the storyline by reading Behind Closed Doors by Jenny Tomlin, which recounts the author’s abusive childhood.

Her TV show Hollyoaks is also running as #NoMoreSecrets campaign. The main focus of the campaign is to encourage young people to speak out about abuse.

Moore who recently revealed her extension of contract with the Hollyoaks said in an exclusive interview with Mirror Celebs, "I know people quite close to me who have gone through it as well. It's very interesting when you know someone and they tell you about it you kind of see a different side to them and they become a kid again. They're very vulnerable and it's hard."

While talking about the decision to explore child abuse in the soap, Twinnie-Lee explained: I want people to find this hard to watch because it is hard for you to hear and it does go on so we just need to get it out there, really.

"It's a subject that needs to be spoken about right now because it's all over the news.

"You see it on the news and you think it's not really happening. But I think if kids see this on telly they are going to say it happened to that girl on Hollyoaks they're going to have something to relate to."

Her on-screen mother Renee (Zoe Lucker) might not have understood her plight in the show but in their real lives, Moore and Zoe are really close to each other and are fond of each other. Moore’s fans have congratulated her for the ‘courage’ and the pretty actress wasted no time to thank them back on Twitter.
