Michael Cera jams with his Arrested Development co-star Alia Shawkat at the Tribeca Film Festival after-party.

Tribeca Film Festival after party this year was fun like it always is and spontaneous too. This year there was an impromptu performance by Arrested Development stars Michael Cera and Alia Shawkat. Michael Cera played the role of George Michael Bluth and Alia played the role of Mae "Maeby" Fünke in the television series Arrested Developments

Hosted at the sprawling East Village apartment and studio space of Israeli artist Izhar Patkin, guests were treated to an impromptu performance of David Bowie’s “Changes” by Michael Cera, Alia Shawkat, and Spike Jonze.

As the actor and musician Michael Cera played piano, he was joined by his former ‘Arrested Developments’ co-star Alia Shawkat on vocals. Later the director of “Her,” joined and jammed along with Michael and Alia followed by others lounging around one of the labyrinthine residence’s front room.

Did you know, Cera is focusing on bringing himself up as a musician as much as an actor?

He is into music as well.  In 2010, Cera contributed mandolin and backing vocals to the Weezer song "Hang On" from their album Hurley.

Cera has also established himself as the touring bass player in Mister Heavenly, an indie rock band originating in the American northwest, and is a member of the band The Long Goodbye, along with Clark Duke. Cera also played bass and sang the backup vocals during songs in both Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.

He released his full-length debut album True That on August 8, 2014, through his official Bandcamp page. The album features 19 original tracks, a cover of Roderick Falconer’s "Play It Again" as well as a cover of Blaze Foley's "Clay Pigeons.”

Alia, on the other hand, has placed herself only in acting, but the actress is doing incredibly well in her career as well.
