According to TMZ reports, the True Blood alum was admitted to the hospital last week for an appendix removal. But when the doctors began to perform the surgery, it turned out to be even worse than doctors had suspected.
Doctors are reported to be quite alarmed by his unusual condition. It has been said that the actor’s appendix may have burst if the doctors had not operated an emergency surgery.
After ostensibly running into complications, the 39-year-old actor is out of danger now. Though he is still in the hospital, he has been recovering from an extremely serious surgery.
This is not the only health issue the actor has been dealing with.
Earlier during his shooting on the set of Magic Mike, he had ripped a bicep which had led to a chronic condition for him. That tragic accident has been still creating problems for him.
Due to his health issues, the Magic Mike star had to drop out of a charity event on Sunday, April 17.
Joe and his wife, Sofia Vergara, were expected to act as honorary co-chairs for the charity event in West Hollywood, California on behalf of the Stuart House Benefit. The event was organized to raise funds for the facility which helps children and families recover from sexual abuse.

Fashion designer John Varvatos, who invited the couple to the event, spoke about Manganiello’s health with ET.
“Basically, they just couldn’t make it because he is recovering. I don’t know a lot about it other than that he’d had a little bit of a health problem. We wish him the best. We thank him for all his support that he’s given us and most importantly, to get well soon because he’s such a wonderful guy.”
On April 14, US Weekly reported that Manganiello was forced to drop out filming for the History Channel’s upcoming drama series Six because of health reasons and the physical demands of the series.
His fans tweeted back on his post on Twitter recently to wish him to recover soon.
@JoeManganiello Nice to hear from you! Get well soon ????????????
