Former Ice Hockey star Valerie Bure lives an interesting life. First of all he is a very famous Russian former ice hockey right winger. His salary is more than you could imagine. In fact, he just took over $22.5 million as his salary. He played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). Secondly, after his injury and surgery, he couldn’t go back to his professional career but he paired up with Ekaterina Gordeeva in 2010 to win the second season of the figure skating reality show Battle of the Blades. There are many more interesting things about this Ice hockey legend many of us don’t know. He owns his own winery. Yes he is an official wine manufacturer. He is very fond of wine and produces and sells varieties of them in the market.
Besides his successful career in the ice, he also has a loving wife and three beautiful children. He is married to actress Candace Cameron Bure. Last year, she made headlines by opening about their sex life. In an exclusive interview with HuffPost Live, she told about her submissiveness as a wife. The couple has been married for 18 years and this happily married wife of NFL star’s conservative views on marriage came as a huge shock to the modern society. The Full House star Candace in the interview advocated her submissive role in her book called “Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose”
Bure writes in her book: "My husband is a natural born leader. I quickly learned that I had to find a way of honoring his take-charge personality and not get frustrated about his desire to have the final decision on just about everything. I am not a passive person, but I chose to fall into a more submissive role in our relationship because I wanted to do everything in my power to make my marriage and family work."
Now her views may sound preposterous too many but she clarified the meaning of submissive.
"The definition I'm using with the word submissive is the biblical definition of that," she explained. "So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength. And that's what I choose to have in my marriage."
Despite all these Mrs. Bure explains how her decision matters in her family. She said that she too makes the important decision in the household and she said despite being wrong, she lets him make the final choice but only after making her own opinion clear.
This might be the reason behind their happy and long married life. They both deserve respect for the height of achievements where they have reached. And let us hope that this strong couple will stay together forever happily as ever.
