Later, the company is named as Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. In 2010, the new team won its first Daytona with driver Jamie McMurray.

As per sources, Mrs. Earnhardt hired entertainment executive Max Siegel for the post of President of Global Operations to expand their business into the entertainment business. DEI merged with Ginn Racing and Bobby Racing and got a part in the ownership of the company on July 25, 2007.
