There is more to her success story but let’s take a peek of her personal life. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Born in the coal-mining town of Springhill, Nova Scotia to James Carson Murray, a town doctor and Marion Margaret Murray, a registered nurse, Anne Murray had an interest in music from her early childhood. She took an early start. She studied piano for six years and by the age of 15 she was already taking voice lessons. Anne Murray said “I often think that perhaps the reason I became a successful singer was that, as a kid I could never do anything as well as my brothers. I wanted to do something better than they did.” She proved it all too well.
Anne Murray was married to Bill Langstroth, a music producer in 1975. They had a multiyear affair before getting married. Bill was a married man and her boss when they began dating. They had a difficult time keeping their affair a secret before Bill divorced his wife and married her. A year after they got married they became parents for the first time with the birth of their eldest son William. They have two children. Dawn, who is their second child and only daughter, arrived 3 years later. The husband - wife was together for 23 years before getting a divorce in the year 1998. It was a tragedy that Bill died in the year 2013. Murray has not dated anyone since Bill.
Last but not the least, to add up in Anne Murray’s life is her memoir ‘All of Me.’ Anne Murray says she decided to write her tell-all memoir because it was the last item remaining on her career to-do list.
Her net worth is estimated to be around $45 million.
