Gay Wedding planner David Tutera, who designs shoes and gowns for celebrities, had a disastrous marriage

David Tutera might be the best wedding planner in Hollywood, but his own marriage did not turn out very well. The celebrity wedding planner and the winner of "Best Celebrity Wedding Planner" award by Life & Style Magazine has designed countless bridal gowns and organized fabulous weddings for several celebrity brides but the popular designer and author failed badly in his own married life.

The openly gay Tutera, aged 49, was married to his longtime partner Ryan Jurica. David Tutera, known as the star wedding planner of WE TV's My Fair Wedding, and his then husband Jurica tied the knot in September 2003 in Vermont. Same-sex marriage was legal in Vermont at the time. But the power couple filed for a divorce after a decade of their happy wedding and they even split up their surrogate twin babies, daughter Cielo and son Cedric. The couple separated on New Year’s Day in 2013 and Tutera took custody of their daughter whereas his ex-husband Jurica got the custody of their son. And reports have it that after more than a year of their divorce, the twins haven’t seen or met each other.

When the pair broke up, same-sex marriage was illegal in California where they resided.  As per the documents filed in L.A County Superior Court, the surrogate had not given birth to the twins for the couple when they decided to split. And Tutera wanted full legal and physical custody of the kids.

The divorce did not go as smoothly as the two wanted. Just two days before Tutera filed for the partition, Jurica filed papers in Connecticut to end their relation with a claim that his former husband suffered from an "addiction to sex". Jurica also accused the CELEBration’s host that he frequently hired "sex escorts and prostitutes."

The television personality defended himself by releasing a statement: "The allegations against me are baseless and untrue and I will fight vigorously to defend my reputation in the court of law as well as the court of public opinion. I believe them to be fabrications of a desperate individual in order to gain a legal advantage in our separation."

He continued: "I am saddened by these developments; I am angered by the lies; and I am committed to moving beyond this painful moment to focus on my professional commitments and the upcoming birth of my children."

After the nasty divorce and settlement, the couple has gone their separate ways and now Tutera is on Cloud Nine with his new boyfriend Joey Toth. Tutera who was named by Modern Bride magazine as one of the Top 25 Trendsetters of The Year is raising his year old daughter with his loving partner and they share a perfect life together. But the bridal fashion designer believes that his baby girl should meet with her twin in coming days.
