Garbine Muguruza beats Agnieszka Radwanska - advances to Wimbledon Finals with World No 1 Serena Williams

Spanish women tennis which was very much underrated has found a new hope. Garbine Muguruza has become  a hero of the Spanish tennis. We all know Rafael Nadal very well. He is the Spanish tennis player who led a “Golden Generation” in the men’s tennis. Now it is the time for the women to shine. And Garbiñe Muguruza is surely shining bright after becoming  the first Spanish woman to reach a grand-slam final after 15 years. She beat Poland’s Agnieszka Radwanska in a three-set battle to reach the finals . Her 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 victory has led her to the final against the world No1 Serena Williams.

As it is said, with great power comes great responsibility, now Garbine faces the most challenging part of the game. She has to fight against world No1 Serena Williams in a quest to be the first Spanish woman to win the Grand Slam title and the player who beat Williams, the Iron Woman.

Williams who again sent Maria Sharapova home after winning the semi-final against her yesterday has extended her winning run against Sharapova to 17 matches over 11 years with a 6-2 6-4 victory. Williams could easily be the winner as she is considered to be the greatest tennis player of all time. If she does win then this will be her sixth Wimbledon and 21st major title on Saturday.

Garbine might be under lot of pressure as she makes her entry in the court for the final match. This rising tennis star aged 21 might create history if she defeats Williams. Otherwise, she might have to wait one more year to taste the victory. She has shown a lot of confidence at this year Wimbledon. She has successfully eliminated the top 10 players but we are yet to see her true grit on Saturday afternoon at the All England Club where the final is being held.

“To have Serena in the Wimbledon final, I think, is the hardest match you can have,” Muguruza said. “If you want to win a Grand Slam, when you dream, you say, ‘I want Serena in the final.’ ”

To face such an opponent who is the greatest player of this era or any era is a tough job.

The superstitious Spaniard has even forbidden her parents to appear in the tennis court to witness the most important game of her career.  According to dailymail.co.uk, she strictly told her Venezuelan mother Scarlet and Spanish father Jose Antonioto stay away from her semi-final, where she won 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 on Thursday against Agnieszka Radwanska. She has a huge dream of becoming the first woman tennis player from Spanish nationality to become the Wimbledon champion. So she does not want her mother and father to be there when she is playing with the toughest opponent Serena.

After winning the semi-final against Agnieszka Radwanska, she quickly tweeted in her Twitter Handle: “FINAL!!!!! QUIERO MAS! I WANT MORE! @Wimbledon #2015”and but hasn’t posted any photos on Instagram. Maybe she is saving them for the BIG day. And talking about this hot athlete’s personal life, she seems more focused on her career rather than dating and boyfriends. Best wishes for this 6ft. tall player for Saturday’s match.
