French Tennis Player Richard Gasquet books his spot in Wimbledon quarterfinals, beats Nick Krygois in controversial match

Richard Gasquet was able to dump Nick Kyrgios out of Wimbeldon on Monday (5th July, 2015). Nick Kyrgios, who is also known as the wild child of men’s tennis and a figure surrounded by controversies caused yet another one when he stopped trying to pick up the services of Gasquet. It was during the second set of the fierce match between the two rivals. Kyrgios appeared to deliberately give away points against Gasquet as if mocking him and humiliating his opponent in front of his fans. He is accused to have broken the ITF rule of using his best efforts to win a match when competing in a grand slam tournament which can see him face a heavy fine.

According to his bio, Gasquet, age 29, was born on 18th June, 1986 in Béziers, France. With a height of 6 ft 1 in, he stands tall not only in the tennis court but also when he walks down the aisle with his friends  and rumored girlfriends. Although, nobody has been able to uncover who this tennis star is dating.

Quite popular in social networking sites, Gasquet seems to have many fans from around the globe. He has 55K followers in Twitter. Similarly, he seems to love posing for his photos in Instagram. His tweets mainly seem to be focused on sports and clearly show how much he loves tennis. We can see many people around him in his pictures in Instagram. The tennis star seems really to enjoy his time with friends and family mostly his parents.

During his match this Monday, the normally temperate French tennis star seemed to take his frustration out on his tennis racket after losing the third set against Kyrgios. It seems he had indeed felt humiliated. Kyrgious, however, seemed to take advantage of the situation as he was able to capitalize the third and fourth set of the match. The crowd watched the match filled with much drama with cheers and boos loud enough for everyone to remember the day.

The match completed an impressive revenge for the Frenchman, who coughed up nine match points and a two-set lead before losing to Kyrgios in five sets in the second round last year. The weight of his shots seem to increase as his opponent struggled to keep pace with him. Gasquet went home happy after the match with loud cheers from his fans. Conversely, his opponent had to go home unhappy. He had to deny all the accusations on him because of deliberately giving away points to his opponent. On his defense Kyrgios said, '(It was) just frustration. It's tough out there.’ Also he added, ‘You know, I'm not perfect out there. I'm going to have ups and downs. That's the way you respond from that. I think it takes some serious balls to respond the way I did.'
