The 49-year-old English actress Emily Watson was rejected when she applied for acting school at first, after three years of working in clerical and waitress jobs she was finally accepted.

The actress spent several years in theater productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company before she got the opportunity of a lifetime and successfully landed in her first feature film role as Bess McNeil in Breaking The Waves. The film won her both Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations in the Best Actress category.
