Debra Messing has now openly revealed her past experiences about her life. She revealed that she was horribly treated by the director Alfonso Arau. Actually, Debra first started her acting career in the year 1995 on the film A Walk in the Clouds which was directed by Alfonso Arau.
During her first acting career, she was only at the age of 25. She was asked to do a nude scene out of the blue which was actually not written or said to be during her acceptance of the role. She felt very uncommon and when asked about the issue, she was yelled and said:
"Your job is to get naked and to say the lines. That's it,"
When Debra's nude scene was filmed, Arau used to come over and over to her and used to touch her body intentionally. She recalls:
"He lifts it, scans my naked body, then drops the sheet on top of me like a used Kleenex. He walks away without a word,"
Debra was not only sexually harassed but also was thrown with negative comments on her personal appearance. She explained that she was always insulted for her appearance, particularly her nose commenting:
"How quickly can we get a plastic surgeon in here? Her nose is ruining my movie,"
Debra was even asked to hide her nose in one of the kissing scenes with Reeves. She claimed that she used to feel shamed for being of Jewish heritage. She used to feel as garbage.
But when Arau was asked about all these issues, he denied all those comments of Debra. He replied that the actress was never nude during the shoot. He furthermore added that he never commented about her nose.
