Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew looking for a win this season, recruiting new players, concerns regarding wages..

Premier League fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for the League to start again as teams look set and eager to fight for their respective goals. While some will be vying for the silverware and some trying to avoid being relegated, there’s a different situation for Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew. Pardew, a former palace midfielder himself, sent shockwaves to many premier league clubs as his side defeated lot of top tire oppositions and eventually finished the season in 10th place, Crystal Palace’s best ever run.

And with his side clearly not fighting to survive and not in contention to fight for a place in Europe, Pardew has set his sights on a historic cup win. Crystal Palace have not won a major silverware since 1991 and with his current set of players bolstered by fine summer signings, he’ll be looking for either the Carling or the FA Cup.

“The focus this season must be to keep the momentum we have got, maybe win a trophy and try and finish higher than 10th,” he said. “These are the ambitions I have. If we stay injury-free, I would expect us to get close to that.”

Admired for fostering great attacking play in his team, Crystal Palace has turned out to be one of the most entertaining clubs to watch in the Premier League. With likes of Bolasie, Puncheon and Wilfriend Zaha on the team, the club looked dangerous whenever going forward. And Pardew is looking in for more players as the league nears its start.

After the arrival of Yohan Cobaye from League 1 outfit PSG, fans have been looking forward to see the Frenchmen back in the premier league. Cabaye previously had played for Newcastle before accepting a big money move to the French outfits, only to be put in bench. However, now that his £10 million move has been sealed, the midfielder will be looking to act as a driving force for the clubs attacking players. Palace have also brought in talented youngster Patrick Bamford and goalkeeper McCarthy. Who is next in line is yet to be seen.

A great manager on field, Pardew is one of the most controversy-affected managers due to his frequent feuds with other managers. He came into media attention in 2014 as he head butted David Meyler during Newcastle’s game against Hull City. For this, he was banned for three games followed by four game touchline band. Not to forget the hefty fine. Not only this, his personal life has also been in media as it was once rumored that he was having an affair with another women during his spell at West Ham. Pardew, however, squashed these rumors and his reportedly happy with his Swedish wife with whom he has two daughters.

Now that the Premier League is about to start, it will not be long since we hear some names should Pardew have some transfer targets. Given that Palace cannot afford high wages such as other oppositions, there is less possibility that the new recruits will be in the likes of Yohan Cabaye. Nonetheless, salary will not be a concern as Palace have released decent number of players from the club. Who now joins this exciting and dynamic team will be the question!
