Comedian Retta talks about boyfriends, dating and growing up in New Jersey

Actress Retta, who plays Donna Meagle on the hit NBC show Parks and Recreation, is one of the funniest stand-up comedians in America today. Retta, who has a got a unique single word name, when asked how she came about it, said” I was just too lazy”.

Being a comedian, Retta is known for cracking jokes and up lifting spirits even when the situation gets intense. She hails from New Jersey and has given due credit to her hometown saying her inspiration for most of her comic acts comes from New Jersey itself.

She confessed, or rather cracked a joke, on the numerous relationships she has held over the years. She opened up about being boy crazy too. She admitted to being a little over obsessed with men, but in a subtle manner.

As a teenager, Retta admitted she was “super into boys “and spent most of her time thinking about the various boys she met at school. She also said she had a thing for her math teacher while in high school and he received a number of entries in her personal diary.

However, she currently does not maintain any romantic connection with anybody. She has said she has no time for it as she is very busy working in a number of projects she is involved with.

She also spoke about growing up in Jersey, which made her fearless and courageous. She has, time and again, credited her hometown for giving her the opportunity to embrace her choice of profession and even encourage her far-fetched dream, which turned into reality.

Retta, on a professional level, has achieved huge success in the recent years. She made her debut in the entertainment industry in the year 2009 with Parks and Recreations and hasn’t looked back since. In a span of just six years, she has already featured in three movies and four TV shows.

She is currently working on an undisclosed movie which is being funded by a leading studio and is set to release in the summer of 2016. She has also started to host a number of pod cast shows in her home town of New Jersey lately.

Last year, Retta was mistaken for another celebrity who had taken a weight loss program. Instead of becoming furious at the misunderstanding, she decided to make it her trick joke at every stand up event she hosted from then on.

Retta is also a very popular figure on social media and considers herself to be a prolific Twitter-er and also communicates with her fans frequently through Twitter.
