Christopher ‘Chris’ Whitelaw Pine is an American actor who is best known for his role in Star Trek series that came out in 2009, 2013 and 2016.

Chris Pine was brought up in Los Angeles, California, United States of America. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. He is an actor by profession and active since 2003 to present. Despite being an actor, he is also into Music and Audio Works. Till the date, he has managed to win several awards and has been nominated more than 10 times.

Early Life and Education

Chris Pine was born on August 26th, 1980; in Los Angeles, California, U.S. Both of his parents were actors and almost all the members of his family are related to Hollywood. Though he was interested in sports, Chris spent most of his time on Hollywood sets as a child. In 2002, Pine graduated from the University of Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in English. Right after graduation; in San Francisco, he studied at the American Conservatory Theater.

Career

Chris made his debut appearance in 2003 in an episode of ER. In the same year, he featured in episodes of ‘CSI: Miami’ and ‘The Guardian’. In 2004, he appeared in a short movie called ‘Why Germany?’ and ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ alongside Anne Hathaway as ‘Nicholas Devereaux’. Later in 2006, Pine made his appearance in the movie ‘Surrender’; and ‘Just My Luck’ along with ‘Lindsay Lohan’ as Jake Hardin, manager of a band known as ‘McFly’. The movie was out on May 12th, 2006. In the same year, he featured in the comedy movie called ‘Blind Dating’ and an action movie called ‘Smokin’ Aces’. In 2007, he starred in ‘Fat Pig’ opposite Scott Wolf in the LA production. After a year, he portrayed in the film called ‘Bottle Shock’ as a real-life Napa Valley vinter Bo Barrett.

In 2009, he played as James T. Kirk in the movie series ‘Star Trek’. During the same year, he made his appearance in the LA production of the Beau Willimon as ‘Farragut North’; ‘Small Town Saturday Night’ and ‘Quantum Quest: A Cassini Space Odyssey’ where he set his voice up for the movie. In 2011, there was news about him featuring in the movie called ‘Green Lantern’. However, it went to Ryan Reynolds for some reason. During the fall of 2010, he starred in the romantic comedy ‘This Means War’ alongside ‘Tom Hardy’ and ‘Reese Witherspoon’. The movie was released in February 2012. On May 15th; 2013, Chris continued his role in the Sequel to 2009’s ‘Star Trek’, ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’. During the year 2014; he starred in the comedy movie called ‘Horrible Bosses 2’ as an antagonist, and played Cinderella’s Prince in the musical ‘Into the Woods’.

In 2016, Pina made his appearance in another Star Trek sequel entitled ‘Star Trek Beyond’. And in 2017, he appeared alongside ‘Gal Gadot’ in the superhero movie called ‘Wonder Woman’ as ‘Steve Trevor’.

 His upcoming movie "A Wrinkle in Time", is scheduled to be in 2018. He will portray Dr. Alexander Murry, which is based on the novel of the same name.

Personal Life

Chris Pine was born to Robert Pine (Father) and Gwynne Gilford (Mother). Both of his parents were actors back at their times. His father played in CHiPs as Sergeant Joseph Getraer and his mother is a former actress who now practices Psychotherapist. He comes from English, Welsh, French; and German ancestors. As per his Siblings, he has an older sister named Katherine Pine. And about religions, he defines that he is not a religious guy, he is probably agnostic ( a person who believes that the existence of a greater power such as god cannot be disproved or proved). And speaking of his height, he stands 1.83m (6 feet).

To this day, Chris has managed to win several awards and they are: 2009 ‘Boston Society of Film Critics Award’, ‘Scream Award’, ‘Denver Film Critics Society Award’, ‘ShoWest Award’, 2010 ‘Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award’, 2013 ‘CinemaCon Award’ and 2014 ‘Satellite Award’.

Nonetheless; on July 14th, 2016, he earned his 1st Emmy Award Nomination in ‘Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance’ for the work on series called ‘SuperMansion’. In 2017, he won the Teen Choice Awards in the category of Choice Action Movie Actor. And apart from winning, he has been nominated more than 10 times in his Hollywood Career.
