CC Sabathia expected to be returning to pitch for the Yankees on Friday.

CC Sabathia is coming off the disabled list and ready to take his rightful place on the ground with the Yankees. He was off grounds after suffering from a left groin strain. He is expected to start Friday in Oakland.

After he threw 45-pitch simulated outing on Sunday, 15th May he said, “That was a big test right there and no problems, so I’m ready.” He added, “I’ve been feeling good ever since the day after (he got hurt). It’s gotten better and better.” Sabathia does not expect any recurring issues once he takes the mound again.

The 45-year-old appeared strong and looked assured about his recovery on Sunday.  Joe Girardi, the New York Yankees manager said Sabathia looked really good. He added, "Unless something pops up tomorrow or the next day, he's on target to go on Friday."

Sabathia stayed on the mound to practice throwing over to first and then he did some PFP - pitcher's fielding practice – drills. We wish him the best for Friday.

The team manager said, "You want to make sure that he gets through that and that he's comfortable doing that. You never know," following Sabathia’s practice.

He will be playing the match in Oakland, near where he grew up in Vallejo.
