Brooke Baldwin is an American TV news anchor. She is currently hosting CNN Newsroom from 2 pm to 4 pm ET. Brooke started her career at WVIR-TV in Virginia and later, joined WOWK-TV, in the Huntington as a morning anchor. Later on, she joined WTTG in Washington, D.C. as lead reporter.
Brooke Baldwin Early Life and Career
Brooke Baldwin was born on 12 July 1979 in Atlanta, Georgia. She went to The Westminster Schools, which was a private college preparatory school.
Brooke earned a double bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Journalism from the University of North Caroline at Chapel Hill in 2001. Similarly, she was also the student at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City during her undergraduate years.

Brooke Baldwin began her career working at WWR-TV in Charlottesville, Virginia, and later joined WOWK-TV as the morning anchor in the Huntington, and Charleston, West Virginia, area. Brooke later joined WTTG in Washington, D.C., for the 10 p.m. newscast as a lead reporter.

Brooke Baldwin joined HLN and CNN networks in 2008, where she was a contributor on Rick’s List, hosted by Rick Sanchez. In October 2010, Rick was fired for making what some believed were anti-Semitic remarks, Baldwin filled in for him, eventually taking the time slot permanently.
Currently, she works as a CNN Newsroom from 2 to 4 pm on weekdays, based in CNN’s New York news bureau.

Brooke Baldwin also hosted a weekly segment during her newscast hours named as #MusicMonday which was named after the Twitter trend, profiling various musicians. Similarly, she also hosted the central time countdown from Nashville, Tennessee, as a part of CNN’s 2011 New Year’s Eve coverage.
Likewise, Brooke also hosted a half-hour special music program on 14 January 2012, named ‘Soundcheck’ which featured Mavis Staples, Wilco, Ben Sollee, Mumford & Sons, and Janelle Monae.

In July 2015, Brooke Baldwin traveled to Kenya for an exclusive interview with his half-sister, Dr. Auma Obama, and their 93-year-old grandmother in the Obama family ancestral village.
Similarly, in September 2015, she also hosted a historic town hall in Washington, DC with 40 people who have all been touched by gun violence. That exclusive interview landed Brooke and her team a Peabody Award finalist nomination.

Brooke Baldwin also covered the NYC chokehold death protests in 2014, for which she also nominated for an Emmy. Likewise, in 2011, Brooke also helped lead CNN’s special coverage of the final space shuttle launch Atlantis from Kennedy Space Center.
Along with this, she was also the part of the network’s Peabody-award winning team covering the collapse of the Upper Big Branch Coal Mine in West Virginia, covering of the oil spill disaster in the Gulf; and the battle over the fate of the nation’s big three automakers.

Brooke Baldwin Controversy
Brooke Baldwin was massively criticized by some people on Twitter during the 2015 Baltimore protests when she suggested that veterans were responsible for the unrest, and also saying soldiers who became police officers “are coming back from the war, they don’t know the communities, and they’re ready to do battle.”
However, Baldwin initially pushed back the criticism explaining that she was just repeating something a city official had told her. Later on, she apologized via Twitter on-air the next day.

Brooke Baldwin Personal Life
Brooke Baldwin married David Ray in 2010. Running on their sixth year anniversary as a wife and husband, Brooke still seems to be totally smitten by her boyfriend turned husband. The couple looks very adorable and dashing together.
