Boxing legend Bernard Hopkins, age 51, to have his next fight with Gennady Golovkin??

According to our sources, boxing legend, Bernand  Hopking is going to have his next fight with Gennady Golovkin. But wait!! Is it really going to happen???And if it is what will the results be??? Will it be a legendary match or a disaster???

Let’s not fool ourselves!! Hopkins has made an announcement regarding his next fight. But he has not yet revealed anything about his opposition.

The rumor started when middleweight kingpin Gennady's team talked about considering a fight with veteran American Hopkins, who has been reigning champion of light-heavyweights.

Golovkin's promoter Tom Loeffler, on a recent interview with boxingscene.com said, "I've always said that if there's a middleweight champion willing to fight him, it's always going to be the priority.

He further added: "If Billy Joe Saunders isn't going to fight, if Canelo isn't going to fight, we would consider a marketable name at 168lbs and Hopkins is more active than Andre Ward, so it makes sense."

"It's an interesting fight. Bernard is a legend within the sport. But we have to get this IBF mandatory out of the way and we would always consider that."

But, Hopkins, age 51, who has not been fighting since 15 months, was thoroughly dominated by Sergey and probably should not fight Golovkin, who holds three middleweight titles after he demolished David Lemieux last weekend at Madison Square Garden.

According to Fightsaga site: "At this point in his career, Bernard Hopkins is a mere shell of himself ,"fight trainer Ronnie Shieds told 'War a Week' Radio in November 2014."

"Everyone saw his last performance that he can no longer beat any of the top tier fighters in boxing. In my opinion, Bernard cannot defeat Gennady Golovkin at age 50,and it would really surprise me if Tom Loeffler of K2 promotions agreed to this fight."

He further added that if Hopkins fought a hard punching champion like Gennady in 2015, he would be no different than other great fighters in history who stayed in the sport too long and got hurt. However, there comes a time in boxer's life to decide when to say no. But in the case of Hopkins, the time has never come.

Hopkins, 51, became the oldest champion in history when he won light heavyweight titles at 46, 48 and 49 years of age. In 2004, the unified the middleweight division beat Oscar De La Hoya and was in action in November 2014, when was beat by Sergey a light-heavyweight champion.

However, Golovkin holds three middleweight titles after he demolished David Lemieux at Madison Square Garden .Golovkin is currently the latest force in boxing. He currently lives in his house in California with his wife Alina and son Vadim.

Now the conclusions seems to be that Hopkins should probably not announce his fight with Golovkin. And if they do, it would drive Hopkins to retirement as a result of embarrassment of the defeat.  Prior to that, not only the age of Hopkins will be the cause of his defeat but also the talent of Gennady Golovkin.
