Boxer Timothy Bradley, age 32, on the news for vacating his World Title record

Boxer Timothy Bradley, age 32, has vacated his welterweight world title after he was unable to fulfill the mandatory requirements for the title’s defense. The news might be surprising, but it is indeed true!

The American professional boxer, who is a two-time former WBO welterweight champion, a two-time former WBC light welterweight champion, and a former WBO light welterweight champion, had to defend his 147-pound world title against Sadam Ali. But instead of doing, so he decided to fight Manny Pacquiao for a third time.

Bradley wrote a letter to WBO president Paco Valcarcel to formally give up the aforementioned title last week.

"As you know I will be fighting Manny Pacquiao on April 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, NV," Bradley wrote. "To accept this fight invariably means I cannot comply with my mandatory obligation and must forgo the mandatory against Sadam Ali, as ordered by the WBO. This is a difficult decision, but one I have to make to give fans the best fights as well as allow myself the toughest and biggest fights possible from both a competitive and financial perspective."

The letter further included: "I would like to thank the WBO and its president Paco Valcarcel for their support throughout the years and for allowing me to represent the organization as a two-time world champion."

32 year old Bradley, from Palm Springs, California, won the WBO welterweight title twice and has also won the junior welterweight belt for the same title.

After receiving the letter, the WBO president Valcarcel replied to Bradley with another letter.

He wrote: "Do know that we wholly understand your decision and commend you for always giving fans the best fights possible and doing what is best for your career at this important juncture.

"You have been an outstanding, honorable and loyal WBO junior welterweight and welterweight champion of the world and the doors of the WBO will always be open for you.

"Finally, I am pleased to inform you that we are preparing a special recognition for the Pacquiao vs. Bradley III winner -- two remarkable fighters and worthy ambassadors to the WBO. Wishing you all the best," the president further wrote.

Bradley is married to his middle school friend, Monica Manzo. The couple dated for several years before tying the knot in 2010. Bradley and Manzo have five children of their own while the welterweight champion adopted his dearest wife’s two children from her previous marriage as well.

Manzo has always been on Bradley’s side for as long as we can remember. She is not just his wife, but also the mother of his children and his media manager. They attended middle school together and met each other again several years later. She had had a divorce with her first husband and was raising her two children alone.

The couple has seen lots of ups and downs in these few years and yet they are still strong and happy.

The record making welterweight champion has an estimated net worth of $7 million dollars.
