This Australian writer sure knows how to write his own love story. In one of the interview where both these husband and wife talked about how they met each other, Bob described how they seemed they were meant to be. He stated how Anne was then, with another guy and how true about her feeling she was. They had met in 1966 and 50 years of their glorious love story is yet enduring. The time may have past but the fact that they have become old is just a matter to others. For them, they are as young as they ever were, living their life with full passion even at this passing age.

For Anne, Bob was worth more than her transfer to Europe. For a single person whom, at that time she was not sure will be her husband or not, she decided to stay and cancelled moving to Europe. Since that time, they have been together.

They shared their differences and their similarity. Although May disparities may have risen, there is only one absolute fact that they still love each other as much as they did. They have three children. One of their son Jack Ellis is also an Australian writer.

In the July of 2015, Bob was diagnosed with acute liver cancer after his health got worse and they suspected that he may not have much to live, perhaps only a week or so. Although, he has outlived his cancer, his wife was always there for him, caring and tending for him in every needs.

Bob is famous for his works in books, literature, journalism and even as political commentator. His utmost effort and his passion for his job is respected by all, family and friends alike. His play includes masterpieces like Big Brother Dragon (1971), Shakespeare in Italy (2012), A Very Good Year (1980), Down Under (1976), etc. For his remarkable work, he has been awarded by Australian Film Institute and Australian Writer’s Guild for his effort as a writer as well as a director. He even has some actor credit up to his name for various roles in movies and TV series.
