Dan Harris is best known as the ABC News correspondent, an anchor for Nightline and co-anchor for the weekend edition of Good Morning America. Throughout his career as a journalist, Dan has reported on politics, business, and criminal justice.
He once spent 48 hours locked up in solitary confinement for a story about whether this form of incarceration is inhumane. But Dan’s life wasn’t just limited to being a successful journalist; he was addicted to adrenaline.
It all started when he began covering war stories from Afghanistan and visiting the Taliban home base in Kandahar Dan. He reveals about it in his book, 10% Happier saying the war zone was a “journalistic heroin” for him saying, “I was hooked.”
The Good Girl story reveals about his experience,
“I liked what I was doing. It was thrilling,” says Harris. When he came back home, he says “life was flat and grey and that’s when I stupidly started to self-medicate on the weekends with cocaine”. After this, Dan faced an on-air attack and then resorted to solutions.
Dan has been lucky to have overwhelming support from friends and family likewise. One of his friends described how lucky Dan has been in the Good Girl story,
“One of my friends, a New Yorker through-and-through, says “Dan’s one of the lucky ones. He was able to catch himself and allow himself to be human.” I’d say Dan’s doubly lucky he has the support of a good boss and fellow colleagues…triply so when you consider that Dan has great people in his life and his journey can be measured by the love and wisdom he received along the way from his doctor, his family, and friends, and from his caring, intelligent wife, Bianca.”
