Alison Wright talks about The Americans and what comes next for her character.
For most people who watch FX drama, The American, Alison Write (Martha Hanson) may be their favorite character. Not only is her character written perfectly, Alison has personified her role better than anyone else ever can.
Regardless, people are expecting Martha do die anytime now.
Alison is well on her way for her next series- HBO’s Confirmation with her role as Ginny Thomas which further increases the suspicion for the probability of her replacement by other character or more likely-her death.
Based on the latest episodes Martha has found truth about her so-called husband. Furthermore, it has led to FBI suspecting her to be an agent. Although she escapes from the safe house after being put there by Philip and Elizabeth. Gabriel followers her with a malicious intent to harm her but she cries- “Stay away from me, I’ll scream, and everyone will know you’re KGB.” And the screen fades to black…
Alison spoke to Daily Beast about her character and the series. According to her the Martha that we are seeing right now is far stronger character than what she was when she was introduced. The Martha that we knew would never have been able to accomplish that feat.
Now that Martha has figured out that Elizabeth is not Clark’s sister, Martha suspects that there is indeed something going on between them. Alison Wright has also hinted the slight possibility that Martha may not survive for long.
“…researching the real cases and things that happened, three out of four women committed suicide within 24 hours of learning the whole truth. I don’t know if that’s something that Martha could survive, or would want to survive, finding that out”
But who know? Martha is not just any character and she may indeed come out from the vicious circle of revelation and death. But whatever the case may be, it does not look good for Martha.
