While most people make their own decisions about the people they date once they are past their teenage years, American actress Gabby Soleil, who is already 26, has revealed that she still seeks the approval of her parents before dating someone.
She revealed that she and her parents both look for similar virtues in a man in a recent interview. She also disclosed that even in her twenties, she doesn't feel mature enough to decide whether a man would be right for her or not.
She made it clear that she believes that anybody who her parents deem well enough for her would make a perfect boyfriend.
"My parents have always been there for me. At the start of my career, I was too young to make my own decisions. All the decisions that they took for me at that time turned out to be the best ones for me.
They know what is best for me. If I was to date someone for a long time, he would have to have my parents' approval", she said to our sources.
"I will only date someone who my parents will approve of. I will not marry anyone without my parents consent. So, while dating someone, I take care that I'll have no problem introducing him to my parents when the day finally comes", she said.
She also claimed that there are certain things that neither she nor her parents would like to see in her boyfriend.
The actress believes that a bad relationship now could seriously ruin her career prospects. She justifies her decision to bring her parents into her love life by claiming that their involvement would guarantee that she doesn't make an immature mistake that could possibly ruin her career.
The actress has also stated in several of her former interviews that she would like to date somebody smarter than her. She has said, "I want to go to a top school like Yale, Stanford, Princeton or Harvard.
I want to make sure my English is great and make sure I can carry on an intelligent conversation. If you don't know other things besides acting, then I don't think you're going to succeed in life."
Soleil has been actively involved in acting since her childhood. She made her first major TV appearance at the age of 7 in 2002. She portrayed the role of Adriana in the 2002-2003 season of 'The Hughleys.' She has also made appearances in popular shows like 'Half & Half' and 'The Boondocks.' The respective movie also stars Regina King, who has been active in this field for a long time.
The actress is not very active across social media platforms. As of now, she has no official Twitter or Instagram account. Soleil's net worth remains undisclosed at the moment. But it is suggested that it is valued in excess of a million dollars.
Some online sources have said that her net worth is around $500,000 to $1 million, but the actual amount still remains under review. Besides, Soleil makes most of her gains from her profession as an actress. In the United States of America, an actress has an average salary of $59001. So, she might be earning in the same range from her profession.
