Michael Ironside is one of the distinct actors in the industry. Despite not doing many particular lead roles in movies, we all know him from playing villain and a badass character. Gamers and Critics alike may agree that Eric played a marvelous role in the game, voicing Sam Fisher, but before the game was even released, it had upset the fans of the game. The fans even urged Ubisoft to reverse their decision and sign Michael as the voice artist. When that failed, online petition to support Michael Ironside as the voice of Sam Fisher.
People who played this game knew that Michael was the correct man for the job with his intimidating voice and the way he slips into the character. No sooner, the petition rose up and people were signing it. Even though the petition gathered quite a bit of attention, Ubiosoft didn't brig Michael back as the voice artist of Sam Fisher.
As the game released, even the gamers who actually did not care for the voice artist started noticing the difference in what was essentially the same character.
This decision upset only the fans and gamers. Michael Ironside, himself however thinks that Ubisoft made a correct decision by using a new, younger voice for Fisher. He was in fact in favor of the studio’s decision and quite happy with it.
